Steve Levine, President/CEO
Steve Levine, founder and president of SplashTacular® Entertainment has more than 20 years experience in the aquatics industry. Since establishing the company in 1994, Levine has taken an active role in all aspects of the company’s burgeoning growth including: overseeing engineering, managing production and supervising installation.
Today, SplashTacular Entertainment is the largest U.S.-based waterslide manufacturer, and Levine’s role has evolved to include the development of a competitive team created to continually improve SplashTacular Entertainment’s products and market share. Levine leads by example as he manages operations, develops strong industry relationships, and governs the direction of the company’s ongoing expansion.
The visionary behind SplashTacular Entertainment’s signature concept of hydrotainment® – a new category of water-leisure attractions that blends immersive multi-sensory experiences such as sound, lighting, sophisticated show systems and special effects with the thrill of the actual ride – Levine’s pioneering approach to water-themed rides is gaining recognition throughout the U.S. and abroad.
Levine received a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Arizona State University. He is a voting member of the American Society for Testing and Materials, and a member of the World Waterpark Association, the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, the American Hotel and Lodging Association, the International Hotel and Lodging Association, the National Recreation and Park Association, the Caribbean Hotel Association and the American Resort Development Association.
Alex Weidman, Vice President of Development and Engineering
Alex Weidman, vice president of development and engineering for SplashTacular® Entertainment, has more than 20 years of practical building, construction management and engineering experience. Since joining SplashTacular Entertainment in 2003, he has helped the company achieve tremendous growth by performing a variety of functions across all divisions—from administrative tasks to major leadership decisions.
Today, Weidman is responsible for the overall management of SplashTacular Entertainment’s engineering/design department, which includes but is not limited to preliminary designs, shop drawings, tooling, proprietary design software and special projects. In addition, he provides technical support to the sales, marketing, accounting and operations departments and serves as the in-house information technology support liaison. Weidman also takes the lead in maintaining relations with current clients and forming connections with new ones, and he actively participates in trade shows as well as presentations to potential and existing clients.
Weidman received a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from Kansas State University. He resides in Paola, Kan.
Pat Thomas, Vice President of Operations
Pat Thomas, vice president of operations for SplashTacular® Entertainment, hails from a diverse background including more than 27 years experience in administrative and construction operations management.
With an expert’s knowledge of company operations from field activities to manufacturing, installation and ongoing service, Thomas regularly calls on his extensive background in management restructuring, direct product service, and customer development strategies as he consistently improves SplashTacular Entertainment’s product and service offerings.
A vital asset to the ongoing success of SplashTacular Entertainment, Thomas also serves as a manager of SplashTacular Entertainment’s seasoned teams of designers, manufacturers, and installation crews across North American and the Caribbean, where he ensures the unique needs of the company’s varied client-base are met, and their expectations exceeded.
Robb Strall, Director of New Ride Development & Special Projects
Robb Strall is a key member of the SplashTacular® team with 27 years experience in the water park industry; his background is in structural and tooling design, engineering, project management, installation, construction, marketing and sales.
As director of New Ride Development, his responsibilities include management and accountability of all phases of new attractions from the initial idea to reality including, oversight, direction, creativity, design, engineering, special effects, intellectual property, fabrication as well as being involved in the installation to insure that his vision as well as overall experience has been realized.
Strall graduated from the Paramus Technical Institute with a degree in Industrial Design. He also has a degree from the Art Institute of Atlanta in Commercial Art. He currently operates and runs SplashTacular’s satellite office located in New Braunfels, Texas.
Kodi Theilgaard, Creative Director
Kodi Theilgaard is the Creative Director for SplashTacular® Entertainment. Responsible for new product development and product enhancement, Theilgaard brings a vast knowledge of the theme park industry to the company.
Previously, Theilgaard worked as the lead designer for SCS Interactive, where he worked closely with customers to develop large themed waterpark attractions and developed numerous new product lines for the company. He has worked closely with big-name clients such as Disney, Legoland, Wilderness Resorts, Great Wolf Lodge and Busch Entertainment; just to name a few, where he developed a deep understanding of how to bring a major theme park feel into the waterpark industry. He thrives on looking outside the box through a different angle and bringing something new to the table with each product.
Theilgaard received his Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Industrial Design from The Art Institute of Colorado in Denver. He currently resides in Kansas City, MO.
Jeremy Wilson, Project Engineer
Jeremy Wilson is a project engineer for SplashTacular Entertainment. He works closely with SplashTacular customers to provide preliminary waterslide designs to meet the needs of their projects. Additionally, he works to ensure that each ride designed by SplashTacular maintains the highest level of safety and excitement.
His expert knowledge makes him an instrumental part of day to day operations in the manufacturing process from mold design to the installation of the slides themselves.
Wilson joined the SplashTacular team in 2005 having worked previously for Honeywell International in both the aerospace and automotive industries. He has a mechanical engineering degree from Arizona State University’s College of Engineering and Applied Sciences in Tempe, AZ. He currently resides in Overland Park, KS.
Kevin Duffy, Systems Developer
Kevin Duffy is a seasoned member of the SplashTacular team with 18 years experience in the water park industry and was a key member of the design team that developed the Master Blaster®; the world’s first Uphill Water Coaster. His background is in slide system development, tooling design, preliminary waterslide design, shop drawing creation and software systems development.
As Systems Developer, his primary responsibility is to conceptualize, design, develop and maintain SplashTacular’s proprietary slide design system; Splashworx®. Other responsibilities include generating preliminary waterslide proposals for clients, assisting in shop drawing creation and streamlining Splashtacular’s processes wherever possible.
Duffy currently operates from SplashTacular’s satellite office located in New Braunfels, Texas.
