Our employees are talented, passionate, and completely dedicated to making us the number one waterslide manufacturer in the United States. We couldn’t do what we do without them and we will be forever grateful.
To thank our employees for all that they do in making us a top waterslide manufacturer, we like to spotlight our team members on a regular basis and let our readers get to know the real people behind the magic. Today, we are proud to introduce you to Corey Grace, one of our project engineers. Corey is a newer team member and since day one, he has been a rockstar and a wonderful addition to our team. Splashtacular Title: Project Engineer
How long have you been with Splashtacular and what initially drew you to the company?
Since October, 2020 (6 months and counting!). I was looking for a new structural engineering opportunity, and I was drawn to Splashtacular by the unique projects I would be working on and the great people I had met and would be working with!
What does a day in your life at Splashtacular look like?
I help put the engineering to our unique slide and play unit designs! My days are filled with unique engineering problem solving and collaboration with my teammates. Each project has something unique about it which keeps things different and interesting!
What is your favorite thing about working at Splashtacular?
The variety of unique engineering designs and the collaborative and supportive team I get to work with.
Recommended: Project Spotlight: Houston Memorial Pool
What is the most challenging part of your role?
Sometimes design challenges come up which we haven’t tackled before. It can make the engineering more challenging, but that’s what also keeps it interesting! Otherwise, overlapping schedules, especially in the crunch season of when clients would like their projects complete, can be challenging to manage, but we have a great team who can lean on each other for support!
Where do you see Splashtacular in 5 years?
Continuing to grow, seeking new opportunities, and innovating the industry!
What is your best Splashtacular memory?
We tested our new stand-up slide design in the office parking lot this winter! It was very cool, and we had to remove the ice which had formed on our pool of water overnight! Our feet were certainly numb by the end of our testing!
Three words to describe Splashtacular:
Creative, Innovative, and Committed
What was your first job ever?
A bagger and then promoted to cashier at a grocery store in high school.
Favorite Hobbies?
We have a young toddler with another one on the way, and a great hobby we have found to enjoy together is disc golf! It is a fun reason to go for a hike in the park together, and, if the conditions are right, we can bring along our dog as well who loves frisbee!
Favorite Sports Team?
Growing up in mid-Missouri with family from the St. Louis area, I grew up a big Cardinals fan with several fond memories at Busch Stadium. Happy to call KC home after living in the area for a long time, I am solidly a Royals fan as well. However, the few times they play each other, I’m reminded that while I really like the Royals, my heart still belongs to the Cardinals!
Favorite Food?
I have an affinity for all kinds of food, and I seek out local specialties when I travel. Hard to pick a favorite, but it can be hard to beat a good burger and fries!
One Fun Fact About Yourself!
In an effort to shake off my home-isolation rut during the pandemic last summer, I ran the equivalent length of the width of Missouri (over 230 miles) from Memorial Day to Labor Day, including my own half marathon race!
